Softball

In 2012 (Junior): Melody started in all 57 games in which she played for the Golden Eagles... had 185 at bats and led the team in hits with 53 earning her a batting average of .286 and a slugging percentage of .308 and 8 RBIs... also led the team in runs (31), total bases (57), stolen bases/attempts (22-23), and triples (2)... named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll list for the 2012 spring semester (May 16).

In 2011 (Sophomore): Melody started in each of the 47 games in which she played for the Golden Eagles...led the team in hitting with 57 hits and a .354 batting average...also led the team in runs (34), at-bats (161), total bases (63), and stolen bases/attempts (28-32)...Melody hit the team's only triple of the year, against Kentucky (4/16)...hit her first career home run against Southeast Missouri (3/19)...scored 3 runs in a game on four occassions...named to the OVC Commissioner’s and TTU Athletic Director's Honor Rolls...Melody earned the titles of team MVP and Best Offensive Player for 2011.

In 2010 (Freshman): Melody was the Golden Eagle's source of speed in the 2010 season as she swiped 16 bases, posting an impressive .889 stolen base percentage...led the team in triples and held a team-high .328 batting avg...her 62 hits ranked second in the OVC...named Tech's Freshman of the Year...also earned a spot on the OVC All-Newcomer team.

High School: Melody was a three sport athlete at Harpeth High School, playing softball and volleyball while running track...was a middle infielder under coach Tim Derrick...hit .485 with three home runs her senior season...finished her senior campaign with a .527 on-base percentage...successful in 37 out of her 40 attempted stolen bases.

Personal: Melody Lynn Christian is the daughter of Ken and Ronda Christian...birthday is July 6, 1991.… majoring in exercise science.
